The small Enders Island (41N19, 71W58) is located close south-east of the south-east end of Mason Island, to which it is conneected by a breakwater, about half a mile long. The island is situated on the south entrance to the Mysic Bay, one of the most beautiful places along the Connecticat coast. On the islands stands a ruined fortification, built in 1812 by british troups, for the defence of Mason Island. The Morgan Point Lighthouse, built in 1856, and rebuilt in 1904, stands on the southern most point of the island, and is abandoned since 1967. It is today a well known museum for shipping along the CT coastline. The monastery, standing on the island was founded in 1867, and is in use till today.
