D4 - Egill, TF3EO is active again as D44KF from Sal Island (AF-086),
Cape Verde until 9 January. This time he operates CW and "a very
little SSB". QSL direct to G3SWH (OQRS on http://www.g3swh.org.uk)

G - John, M0XIG will operate special callsign GB200FN between 7 January
and 3 February to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of
Florence Nightingale (1820-1910), the founder of modern nursing.

GW - Chris, G1VDP and Tim, M0URX will be active as MC0SHL from the
Strumblehead Amateur Radio Klub's premises on mainland Wales on 3-5
January. They will be testing out the Band Activity and Real Time
Log Search on M0URX's OQRS: read about this facility by going to
https://www.m0urx.com/ and selecting "OQRS Hints & Tips" in the
dropdown menu under "How to QSL".
JA - JARL's Okinawa Branch will operate special station 8N6SHURI
throughout 2020 to support the reconstruction of Shuri Castle,
whose main courtyard structures were destroyed in a fire on 1
October 2019. QSL via the bureau. A UNESCO World Heritage site, for
450 years Shuri Castle was the royal court and administrative
centre of the Ryukyu Kingdom, as well as the cultural heart of the
Ryukyu Islands.
LZ - Once again Radio Club Blagovestnik (LZ1KCP) will use twelve special
callsigns throughout 2020 to honour as many different Orthodox
saints: LZ1908IK (January), LZ34WGI (February), LZ250KD (March),
LZ603IL (April), LZ177GL (May), LZ734PA (June), LZ551MS (July),
LZ662MI (August), LZ595IP (September), LZ1891AO (October), LZ350PI

UA - The Russian Robinson Club will operate special event station
R200ANT [425DXN 1495] between 1 January and 31 March to commemorate
The 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica. QSL via

VK9N - Janusz, SP9FIH will be active as VK9NK from Norfolk Island (OC-005)
between 12 January and 12 April. He will operate SSB, RTTY and FT8
(Fox & Hound) on 160-10 metres, and will participate in the CQ WW

XE - Weather and sea conditions permitting, Radio Club Puebla DX's
members XE1AY, XE1SPM, XE1SRD and XE1SY will be active as 6F3A from
Isla Perez (NA-153) on 11-17 February, including participation in
the ARRL DX CW Contest and the American Lighthouses Weekend. They
plan to be QRV on 80, 40, 20, 17, 15, 12, 10 and 6 metres with
three stations during their daylight hours; during the night, when
they are not allowed to use the generator, they will run one or two
stations using deep cycle batteries. QSL via XE1SY (see qrz.com for

YU - Special callsign YT50SCWC will be activated throughout 2020 to
celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Serbian CW Club. QSL via
LoTW, or via YU1MM (direct or bureau).
ZF - Pete, K8PGJ will be active again as ZF2PG from the Cayman Islands
(NA-016) on 11-19 January. He will operate SSB on the HF bands,
with holiday style activity except during the North American QSO
Party (from 18 UTC on 18 January to 6 UTC on the 19th). QSL via

CQ DX HALL OF FAME NOMINATIONS ---> Nominations for the 2020 "class" of the
CQ DX Hall of Fame are due by 1 March. The CQ DX Hall of Fame honours those
DXers who have gone "above and beyond", not only in terms of their own
on-air accomplishments, but also in terms of "giving back" to the DXing
community. A maximum of two (2) people may be inducted each year.
Nominations may be made by DX clubs, national organizations or individuals,
and must be submitted by 1 March of each year to be considered. Nominations
should be directed to CQ DX Hall of Fame, c/o CQ Magazine, 17 West John
Street, Hicksville NY 11801, USA; or (preferably) via e-mail to w2vu[@]cq-
amateur-radio.com. Be sure to specify that the nomination is for the CQ DX

CQ DX MARATHON ---> The CQ DX Marathon is a year-long DX hunt, with
participants competing to see who can work the greatest number of countries
("entities") and CQ zones during the calendar year. The 2020 edition started
at 00.00 UTC on 1 January and will end at 23.59 UTC on 31 December. Complete

DX SOUND CLIPS ---> Tom's (K8CX) DX sound clips for 2019 can be found at
http://hamgallery.com/dx2019/. The collection of 130 clips (MP3 format)
covers the major DXpeditions, plus rare and semi-rare DX. This makes 22
full years of sound clips available.
MOST WANTED LISTS ---> The "Most Wanted 100 Countries Archive" maintained by
Tom, K8CX (http://hamgallery.com/countries/) covers the years 1993-2019 and
counting. The charts show the Top 100 DXCC Entities moving up and down the
list from year to year; data come from The DX Magazine (2014 and before) and
Club Log (since 2015).
Club Log's latest Most Wanted List, generated on 25 December 2019, can be
found at https://secure.clublog.org/mostwanted.php. The information is
derived from QSOs uploaded to Club Log (currently 611.7 million log entries
available for analysis) and, to improve quality, only QSOs that have QSLs
confirmed are considered to be worked. The most wanted charts are rebuilt
once per month, on average. The top 20 Entities are:

Allied Forces stations in Germany (1945-70), special stations commemorating
ITU and IARU, stations using the United Nations prefix (4U), Antarctic bases
and TAAF (Terres Australes and Antarctiques Francaises), the various French
DXCC island Entities in the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean and the Americas
(from 1945 to 1969), pre-1945 countries, French Departments and CONUS, plus

R207RRC ---> UA3AKO and other Russian Robinson Club's members plan to be
active as R207RRC from Kosa Dvukh Pilotov (AS-207, new one for IOTA)
sometime during the Spring. The licence is valid through 16 May. More
information is expected in due course.
RI0B ---> The Artic Legends Expedition 2020 (http://legendsarctic.com/) is
set to start in mid-March. The team (UA9KDF, UA9LDD, UA0BA, RW0BG and RT9K)
will first gather at the Sopochnaya Karga weather station, and then go and
be active as RI0B from Rastorguyev Island (AS-068). The trip will depend on
weather, as the team will be using snowmobiles. More information is expected
in due course.
SOUTH ORKNEY ISLANDS: VP8PJ ---> The callsign for the Perseverance DX
Group's DXpedition to the South Orkney Islands (https://sorkney.com/) will
Be changed to VP8PJ. "In past years it was relatively easy to get a
preferred VP8 call sign for the British Antarctic Territory", the team says.
"After a licensing administrative change", however, they were unable to
obtain a VP8 callsign, and decided to use VP8/VP8DXU (VP8DXU is the Falkland
Islands callsign issued to Doc, W7XU). But Alan, VK6CQ, "a recent addition
to the team, holds the call sign VP8PJ that was issued to him for operation
from the British Antarctic Territory. After submission of a copy of Alan's
license, ARRL has issued us a new LoTW certificate for the use of this call
from South Orkney for the duration of our expedition". [TNX K5GS]
